Key Takeaways:

  • Cosmoprof North America Miami debuts The Fragrance Experience to connect fragrance brands, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and distributors.
  • A ticketed program will invite fragrance enthusiasts and content creators to the third day of the event.
  • The event bridges industry networking with consumer discovery as demands grow for in-person scent experiences.

Fueled by premiumization, personalization, and growing interest in scent discovery, the fragrance industry is creating new opportunities beyond the retail shelf.

Fragrance trade shows have traditionally been where the industry does business, not where consumers discover their next favorite scent. Cosmoprof North America Miami is blurring that distinction with The Fragrance Experience, an inaugural three-day event that will take over a dedicated ballroom in the Miami Beach Convention Center in January 2027. The event will open its doors on the third day to fragrance enthusiasts and content creators, alongside the manufacturers, suppliers, brands, and retailers that typically populate the trade show floor.

The global fragrance market is projected to grow from $61.4 billion in 2026 to $89.4 billion in 2033, at a CAGR of 5.5%. North America accounted for the largest regional market share at 33.2% in 2025.

As the category expands, so does the landscape of fragrance-specific conventions and live events. Given the sensorial nature of fragrance, in-person experiences play an important role in how consumers discover and sample scents. This creates opportunities for events that bring the industry and its audiences together.

From Pitti Fragranze and Esxence's international niche fragrance trade shows for industry insiders to consumer-focused conventions, perfume clubs, and events like ScentXplore and Fragcon that bring brands and consumers together, dedicated fragrance gatherings are becoming increasingly popular worldwide. By combining the business focus of a traditional trade show with a group of curated consumers, the Cosmoprof Miami event is designed to create new opportunities for engagement.

As one of the leading business-to-business gatherings within the industry, Cosmoprof North America welcomed 19,000 visitors and 845 exhibitors in 2026. Attendees at Cosmoprof’s Fragrance Experience can engage in networking and business development and gather insights into emerging technologies and trends in the global fragrance market. From fragrance houses and ingredient suppliers to packaging and manufacturing partners, brands, retailers, and distributors, the convention serves as a gateway to buyers across the US and Latin America.

"Fragrance must be experienced, and bringing it to market takes expertise across an entire industry," said Liza Rapay, Vice President, Head of Cosmoprof North America, in a press release. "The Fragrance Experience connects the people who create scent with those who develop products, build brands, and bring them to consumers. It gives those connections a place to become new business opportunities.”

This event follows Cosmoprof Asia, held in November, which also places a particular focus on fragrance. There, Esxence will present a dedicated niche fragrance section featuring independent and emerging brands, while a special installation will highlight participating fragrance houses' heritage, craftsmanship, and scientific advancements.

What sets The Fragrance Experience apart is its ticketed discovery program, welcoming industry outsiders. A limited group of fragrance enthusiasts and reviewers, media, and content creators, many of whom help shape how fragrance is discovered and discussed culturally, will engage with the participating brands. Through new product launches, sampling opportunities, and founder and fragrance stories, brands can gather feedback and build connections with these consumers.

The host city, Miami, also plays an integral role in positioning the event as a growing destination for fragrance. According to market tracking data, 32 fragrance brands and 43 fragrance retailers are headquartered in Miami as of September 2026. The multicultural and fragrance-engaged city not only provides fragrance companies with a launchpad for US growth but also serves as a hub connecting global markets, especially for those in Latin America.
